The world is rapidly changing.

In less than a century, workers have gone from assembling widgets in factories to clickity clacking on keyboards for hours on end.

It makes you wonder, if work has changed so much in the last century, how much more will it change in 10 years? Or 5?

This is something I think about a lot.

I think we’re on the precipice of the greatest revolution since the invention of the Gutenberg Press. Everything about life, politics, society, and work is going to change and it’s going to do so very quickly.

The problem isn’t so much the change that’s going to happen, it’s that we’re not really prepared for it.

You see, the way we work now it’s necessarily the best way to get things done. We “do work” without actually making much progress on the things we’re working on.

Humans are wired to be prodcutive. We love setting goals and accomplishing them.

But things like busy work and pseudoproductivity are making it impossible to get things done.

Productivity isn’t so much about getting more things done, it’s about making time to get the right things done. It’s about helping you developing systems and processes to work towards your goals and live your dream life.

Why Productivity Stack?

In 2018 I was living in Washington, DC working as a contractor for the Department of Defense. I was in a job using my college degree doing exactly what I had set out to do with my life yet I was miserable.

I read The 4-Hour Workweek that year and it changed my life.

You see, my job felt fake. On paper it sounded really cool but in practice I felt like a paper pusher. I wasn’t doing anything to build my skills and I didn’t feel like I was making progress toward anything.

Everyday felt like Groundhog Day. I couldn’t take it anymore so I left my career behind and started new.

Tim Ferriss’s book gave me a framework for understanding how work could fit into my life. With the right systems and processes, I could manage work rather than letting it manage me.

Maybe you can relate?

For so many people, work feels like a necessary evil. It’s the thing we have to do to pay the bills. It ends up taking up most of your life without you even realizing it.

Productivity Stack is productivity meets personal development. It’s all about desigining processes and systems to help you become a more effiicient worker so you have more time and energy to live your life.

The goal isn’t to help you get better at checking things off your todo list, it’s to help you reduce the number of things on your list in the first place.
